A scan failed: what to do

Why scans fail and how credits are handled.

A scan is marked failed if too many of its points error out after retries (usually a temporary upstream issue or rate limit). When that happens, the credits for the scan are automatically refunded.

What to try

  • Re-run the scan from its page: transient errors usually clear on a retry. If the failed run was refunded, Run again charges the scan’s credits again, and the button shows how many.
  • Reduce the grid size or widen the spacing if you’re scanning a very large, dense area.
  • If it keeps failing, contact support with the scan details.
