Rank Tracking

Daily Google positions for a website’s keywords.

Rank Tracking checks where a website ranks on Google for the keywords you choose, once a day. A project is one website, one country and one device, desktop or mobile, and Google is asked from that country in its main language. Open it from SEO → Rank Tracking, or from the Rank Tracking card on the SEO Dashboard.

Positions are read to the top 100 results. A keyword below them shows as Not in top 100. A keyword you have just added shows as Not checked yet: positions arrive with the next daily update, the day after you add it.

What each tab shows

  • Landscape: visibility, average position, how many keywords rank in each band, the top keywords, the biggest moves up and down, and your tags.
  • Overview: every keyword with its position, its move over the period, its visibility and the page that ranks.
  • Rankings distribution: how many keywords rank in the top 3, 10, 20 and 100, day by day.
  • Pages and Tags: the latest update grouped by the page that ranks, or by the tags you gave the keywords.

Visibility is the share of clicks the positions would earn, out of what they would earn if every keyword ranked first. A keyword below position 20 adds nothing to it. Estimated traffic is not shown yet: it needs keyword search volumes, which Rank Tracking does not collect.

Limits

Rank Tracking comes with a GBP Management plan and spends no credits. Your plan sets how many keywords you track at a time, across every project: Starter 500, Growth 1,500, Agency 5,000. Projects are not counted, only keywords, so one website can be tracked in several countries and on both devices. Without a plan nothing is tracked: an account whose plan ends keeps its projects, but their positions stop updating until it has one again.

Owners, Managers and Members create projects and add or remove keywords. Viewers can look at every project.
