Run your first heatmap scan
From a blank map to a finished heatmap in a few clicks.
Steps
- 1In the sidebar open Local → Local Rank Tracker, then click New scan: the tab at the top, or the button beside the page title.

Searching and selecting the business location. - 3Add one or more keywords, or type one into the Quick scan box (no list needed).
The Keywords menu: pick a saved list, or type a keyword in Quick scan. The lists shown are examples. - 4Open Scan area and pick a shape, the points per row and the distance between points. A new scan starts as a Square grid at your default grid size from My profile → Profile settings (13×13 until you choose one).
Scan area: the shape, the points per row and the distance between points. - 5Click Run Scan, choose the search type(s), review the estimated credits, then click Run scan in the Confirm scan window.

While it runs
Points fill in as results arrive. When it finishes you get the heatmap, a ranking table, and competitor insights. Open any past run again from Local → Local Rank Tracker.
